Carla Wild, Minute Taker, Wellington

Just a Minute is a Wellington-based minute taking service run by Carla Wild

I have been taking minutes at meetings professionally for many years and before that used my skills in a range of voluntary organisations.

I work for a wide variety of Government departments, private companies, the not-for-profit sector and other organisations, producing minutes in a prompt and professional but friendly way. If your business would like me to take an accurate record of a meeting or other event, please feel free to contact me at any time.

My email is: carla.wild29@gmail.com

or call me: 027 4444 525

Although I work independently, I co-ordinate with two other experienced minute takers. We provide back up and support for each other when assignments overlap. if I am unavailable I may be able to provide you with contact details for an alternative minute taker.

If you want to know more about me, see my « About Just a Minute » page on this website or contact me. I will be very happy to answer questions or provide you with details of people I have worked for.

My specialty is minute taking and, although I am based in Wellington, I am happy to travel if required.

How does Just a Minute work for you?

Just a Minute is a service for all sectors of the community, from the large corporate bodies to the equally important small organisations.

Understanding the organisation

Before attending a meeting for a new client, I like to take the time to read about the organisation to understand its aims and objectives.  I also ask for a copy of minutes from the previous meeting and the agenda so I am familiar with any unusual vocabulary or acronyms.

The range of minutes

I tailor minutes to the level of detail required.  Sometimes the requirements is for a verbatim record and in this case I prefer to record the meeting and prepare the minutes in the form of a transcript.  Usually only a summary of the main points of a discussion and the decisions made are required.  There are many variations in between!

Timely turnaround

To be useful, minutes need to be provided in a timely manner.  Typing straight onto my laptop allows me to provide a quick turnaround and Just a Minute documents are usually emailed within 24 hours – often faster – but speed does not mean compromising on accuracy.

Confidentiality

Everything I see and hear is completely confidential; papers are shredded on completion of assignments.  Trust and confidentiality are paramount to the continued to success of Just a Minute particularly when matters of staffing, finance and other delicate issues are discussed.

Why choose someone from outside the organisation?

In-house staff may not always be prepared to take minutes; they are time consuming for someone with a myriad of other things waiting on their desk.  I am able to focus completely on the job in hand.  There are also confidentiality issues to be considered.  Absolute discretion is fundamental to the independent minute-taking service provided by Just a Minute.

Contact me by email (carla.wild29@gmail.com) or phone to discuss your requirements; I will need to know date, time and place of a meeting.  I will also ask for a copy of the minutes of the previous meeting and a copy of the agenda when available.  Meeting papers can either be posted, emailed or provided in hard copy at the meeting.  I will provide my own laptop and all I ask for is a desk, power point and (preferably) an adjustable chair.
